We were all “illegal” at one point too!!! Why do they not deserve to try and make a better life for themselves and their families just like our ancestors did hundreds of years ago? This is so similar to the Holocaust, the way the Nazi’s moved out the Jews. Are we gonna start rounding them up and killing them because we don’t know what else to do with them? They are people too and it is racial profiling to stop anyone who looks like they may be illegal, meaning all hispanic looking people. Shame on you Arizona!!!!!!! You are not GOD!!!!!

Sara you are a perfect example of an ignorant, misinformed, bleeding heart liberal. Here you are at the site about the bill claiming the bill does something that is expressly forbidden. You and those like you choose to believe what you want while keeping reality at arms length. In your world you see a cop walking down the street stopping anyone speaking Spanish or who looks Hispanic and tossing them into a police car and that simply isn’t the case. That would however be a perfect example of what is not allowed. While in the course of their normal duties of law enforcement such as traffic stops and responding to calls police can ask that a person involved provide proof that they are in the country legally, but a suspicion of being illegal cannot be the reason for initiating contact. When did asking for credentials start to make you a Nazi? It has always been standard operating procedure that when a police officer comes into contact with you in an official capacity that they verify who you are, and if you have any wants or warrants. Basically, have you broken any laws? This is just an extension of that question: Are you now or have you before broken any laws. Being here illegally is breaking the law. I think that is the heart of the controversy, liberal dems confuse the issue of should someone be here with is it legal for them to be here. Wanting to be the solution for every hard luck case with two legs to get here doesn’t make their presence here legal or right. With the amount of necessary police work to be done there will not be a need for police to go out of there way to harass people for minor infractions either, though I believe they would be within their rights as long as a law was broken. I’m white and I’ve been pulled over for improper lane change and a broken tail lights before; I don’t think a Hispanic person should get a pass for the same thing just because this is a touchy subject for some and the infraction was minor. What I am saying is I don’t think there will be anymore incentive to pull over that car with the Hispanic driving for an infraction than if I were driving and committed the same infraction. Tell me, why is America expected to give up its sovereignty and not protect its boarders while when you go to most countries around the world, if you are a foreigner you are expected to produce your papers on the spot at all times without question? The call America “the great melting pot” and I agree with that statement, but I have never seen a pot that you could fill indefinitely without boiling over. I and those like me are against illegal immigration, not immigration. People need to realize resources are finite; there are only so many jobs, doctors, schools, hospitals, and dollars to be had. Its not that we can’t allow anymore immigration but to allow it to continue to go unchecked would be an epic blunder; to continue to believe that we can sustain a never ending stream of mostly unskilled people coming here for a better life is the height of naivete. By controlling the influx of people, yes we do have a chance to provide the means for a better life for a great many. Although we are a melting pot, we still have our own unique culture here in America; its a culture that Americans…all Americans have created through a great deal of hard work and sacrifice. What we have created here should be protected and preserved. To simply ignore or rationalize the undocumented invasion any longer would be a great disservice to our country. Maybe if the crutch of going to America for a better life were no longer available to the peoples of our Southern boarders, it would force them to rise up and take a larger hand in there native countries and there would no longer be a need to look elsewhere for prosperity.

    Hispanics for Arizona Bill
There are many Hispanics, like me, who support the Arizona crackdown on crime. Mexico is suffering from severe corruption and gangsterism. We, Americans of Mexican descend, wouldn’t like the USA to become another Mexico. Stop all crime, before it stops us.
If the criminals hapens to be an illegal, deport them. We need, and demand, a secure border. Whatever it takes. There are 1000′s of people waiting in line, for years, to come to this country legally. Why would others be accepted, given cart-blanch rights to be here by breaking the law?

Del, well said! Currently 43% of the population of Arizona is comprized of illegal immigrants. This isn’t an ethnic problem, it’s an economic problem. I doubt that anyone there cares about the ethnicity of those comming across the border if they brought their own entitlements with them and didn’t bankrupt our states with their needs. My experience is that every country has incursions into their country by aliens but in many countries they arrest, punish, and sometimes even execute them. It’s more appropriate to send them home and get them off of our welfare roles and criminalize it if we have to deal with them repeatedly.

Well people I was born and raised in Arizona. You know being Native american i think we all can get along in this country but i support those who take the time to get through the borders legally…like some of my friends and even family members have. But then again remember we need illegal immigration. Don’t even give me the whole deal about illegal immigrants taking ours jobs, i don’t believe that any of you are willing to work in the fields or fix up buildings on a hot day, become a nanny, or even a maid. Remember America was built on slavery and immigration without it we wouldn’t be the country we are today. If my fathers family were never slaves we wouldn’t have cotton or good industry in the south today. The chinease built the railroads, the immigrants from Ellis Island made the industrial revolution. we need immigration that is one fact we cannot avoid. And to stop something we need while we use racial profiling and breaking people’s given rights is not right or even legal. This law is all together just wrong. And besides that what about the Native Americans who look Latino? What happens if you pull them over or mistake them? that would be just wrong. Arizona’s law needs to go.

Most people who are for this Bill say that the borders need protection. The borders are protected all right but if that is the problem then protect the borders. Most illegals are working parents who came to this country just like most of our ansertors did to better their life. Protection of the borders is just another way to excuse the racism that this country is still carrying around. Thanks to all these illegals we all have better jobs, if they leave then tell me are you going to take their jobs? and if you dont than what is going to happen to our ecomony who is going to do their jobs. Be thankfull that there is people willing to do the dirty jobs for this country and those few dollars that they make is more then enought to feed their families.

The anti-SB1070 activists whom designed this website did a wonderful job explaining all the reasons why this bill is so greatly needed.
